Powder Brows

Powder Brows is a form of permanent makeup that is meant to create a soft, powdery makeup look. By brushing and depositing pigment into the skin, we build the pigment layer by layer producing a gradient of color from dark to medium light. Powder Brows is also known as shading or ombre. This technique is not for creating individual hair strokes and is best for clients who want a more filled-in looking brows or want an even base color under their eyebrow hairs.

This is what you might expect during the healing phase:

Day 1-2
What you see is about 20-40% darker, bolder and more solid than what your healed result will present. Under the pigment, the skin is red, and pigment has been deposited into the layer of skin containing dead skin cells; combined giving the appearance of a darker color. There may be minimal swelling.

Day 3
The top layers of skin will begin to shed on about day 3-5, and you will see a loss of color. Your eyebrows may begin to itch, and the pigment may appear somewhat raised. You will see a loss of color where the scabs come off.

Day 4-14
The skin is now in the throes of rapid exfoliation and if left alone, will shed evenly. The color under the exfoliating skin will continue to appear light until the epidermis takes on its more transparent characteristics.

Day 30-40
Now is the ti
me to critique your brows as you have had a full cycle of cellular regeneration in which the tattoo has now become part of the dermis, seen under the epidermis.

Please Note

Every individual is different, and this approximate timeline is just that, an approximate and can vary from person to person.

When you leave the appointment, your eyebrows will be intact and we will do our best to help you heal properly. Your lifestyle choices, age, genetics, and skin type will contribute to the retention of your pigment. If you use sun-beds, sunbathe, don’t use sun protection, smoke, use anti-aging creams or acidic cleansers, your eyebrows will fade faster and you’ll need to come earlier for your refresh touch ups.

Cosmetic tattoo is an art, not a science. Your results will vary and using eyebrow makeup may still be needed, especially when wearing heavy coverage makeup. This is not necessarily a no maintenance treatment, but a low maintenance treatment. No two sides of the face are the same or perfectly symmetrical and whilst trying to obtain perfect symmetry is my goal, nothing is guaranteed or 100% perfect.

Aftercare

  • A complimentary aftercare kit with all the necessary products will be provided

  • Do not touch your eyebrows the first 3-4 hours

  • Wash eyebrows with soap provided the first night only and again next morning

  • No ointment should be applied on eyebrows for the first 24 hours

  • Starting next day, apply a grain of rice size amount of ointment on eyebrows once daily for 14 days

  • If you have an oily skin type, no ointment should be applied, just dry healing for 14 days

  • No more direct water on eyebrows from now on for 14 days (You will be given the water protective shower visors to make this process easier)

  • Absolutely no sweating, no steam such as long hot showers, baths, hot tubs, saunas, etc. for 14 days.

  • No facials or massages with face down, also try to sleep on your back for 14 days

  • Do not pick the scabs

  • Do not apply any makeup on the tattooed area for 14 days. Cosmetics of any kind will interfere with the healing.

  • No sun exposure or tanning for 30 days

  • On day 15 wash eyebrows with the same soap to remove any remaining scabs

  • Botox/Fillers near the eyebrow area can be done after 14 days too.

  • Start using your regular skincare & SPF over eyebrow area (as long as it doesn’t contain any Retinols/Acids/Lightening or Exfoliating ingredients)

  • It is OK to get brows wet again, sweat, fill them in with makeup, use fake tan after 14 days

If you do not follow the aftercare instructions, you will ruin the results and we will have the right to release you from any future services.
